On the 6th of April 2019, 8-year-old Amahle Thabethe assisted a man with directions to a shop. She has never been seen again. Where is Amahle and did a serial rapist on the run have something to do with her disappearance?
This is the first case of a missing child that I am covering on True Crime South Africa and it is very recent. I wanted to cover Amahle’s disappearance as soon as I could because her case needs urgent exposure. In my opinion, not near enough media attention is given to children that go missing in South Africa – especially children from poorer communities.
Amahle Thabethe disappeared without a trace on the 6th of April 2019. She was wearing blue jeans with hearts printed on the right-hand side and a long-sleeve white t-shirt with black stripes on the front.
