When Ina Bonnette met Johan Kotze she thought she had found the man of her dreams. Those dreams would soon turn into a nightmare she could never escape from when the true Johan Kotze showed his face resulting in one of the most sadistic cases of domestic violence and murder that South Africa has ever seen.
3 January 2012 is a day the community of Modimolle in Limpopo, South Africa will never forget. On that day, Johan Kotze did the unthinkable. He not only orchestrated the gang rape of his wife, before torturing her, but also murdered her nineteen-year-old son, Conrad.
Johan Kotze – and his three accomplices — Andries Sithole, Frans Mphaka and Pieta Mohlake — were sent to jail for life.
Ina Bonnette has eventually found peace. Her peace, she said, came through writing her book in Afrikaans – Ina, ’n Verhaal van Genade en Genesing (“A tale of mercy and healing”).
